On December 8, 2006 we acquired the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas. Located in the tranquil environment of the Arboretum area of northwest Austin, the hotel is surrounded by nature trails, sophisticated boutiques, a variety of restaurants, and is easily accessed from the Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360). The hotel is in close proximity of technology firms including Dell, Motorola, IBM, Samsung and National Instruments. It is located 12 miles from downtown Austin, the Austin Convention Center, the 6th Avenue Historical District, the Warehouse District, the State Capitol and the University of Texas. The hotel is 18 miles from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

The 492 room, 10-story square tower, configured in an interior-corridor, open atrium style, was constructed in 1986, and converted to the Renaissance brand in 1994. The property features one restaurant, a lounge, a nightclub and a newly opened Internet cafe.  It has 60,000 sq. ft. of technologically advanced, flexible meeting space including a 30,300 sq. ft. exhibit hall and a 55-seat tiered amphitheatre, a health club and two pools. The hotel is a Marriott-branded property and is managed by Renaissance Hotel Operating Company.
