In December 2004, we acquired
the Hotel 5A, a boutique hotel property located in
Midtown Manhattan. The hotel was reflagged as the Courtyard New York Manhattan/Fifth Avenue in January 2005. In
conjunction with the conversion, DiamondRock invested
approximately $6.1 million to completely renovate the
property.
The 189-room hotel is located just off New York's
fashionable Fifth Avenue across from the New York Public
Library and proximate to Bryant Park. The hotel is
situated in a well-established retail neighborhood and
within walking distance to many corporate headquarters
as well as some of New York's most prominent tourist
attractions such as the Empire State Building, Grand
Central Station, and Times Square.
