On December 8, 2006 we acquired the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. Located in the heart of the Platinum Triangle at the crossroads of the I-285 Perimeter and I-75, it is in the center of Atlanta’s second largest office market. Constructed in 1983, it was converted to the Renaissance brand in 1996. It is the only hotel attached to the Cobb Galleria Centre, Atlanta’s premiere suburban convention center with retail shops. It is within walking distance of the Cumberland Mall and the new Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center currently under construction. The hotel is proximate to major companies including Home Depot’s headquarters, Lockheed Martin, IBM and Coca Cola. It is 12 miles from the downtown area and 20 miles from the airport.

The hotel was constructed as a rectangular tower with the lobby atrium rising to the top of its 13-stories. The 521 guestrooms underwent a complete $7.6 million renovation in 2003 and received the Marriott bedding package in 2006; $2.6 million was recently invested in upgrading and enhancing the 65,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space.

The hotel has two restaurants and two bars in the atrium. It has two pools, a whirlpool, two saunas, two racquetball courts and a fitness center. It is a Marriott-branded property and is managed by Renaissance Hotel Operating Company.
