On January 31, 2007 we
acquired The Westin Boston
Waterfront in Boston,
Massachusetts and an option to
acquire an adjacent site with
development rights to build a
new hotel (approximately 325
rooms). We also purchased an
additional 100,000 square feet
of retail space in a building
attached to the property. We
have converted a portion of
this building into prime meeting
and exhibit space, and lease the
remainder to upscale
restaurants.
The recently built Westin Boston
Waterfront is located in the
rapidly growing Boston Seaport
District and attached to the 1.6
million square foot Boston
Convention and Exhibition
Center. It is less than three
miles from Logan International
Airport, accessible via
Interstates 90 and 93, and a
short cab, water taxi or T train
ride away from Back Bay and the
Financial District.
The 793-room hotel has 32,000
square feet of meeting space,
including a 15,000-square foot
Grand Ballroom and a
4,000-square foot Commonwealth
Ballroom. The property features
a full service restaurant, lobby
lounge, café, fitness center,
indoor pool and whirlpool,
business center and gift shop.
Guestrooms feature Westin's
signature bed and bath, a
flat-screen TV and Wireless High
Speed Internet Access.
